I know it's early but I recieved £70 of gift vouchers for Amazon from Nectar Points. I've used all this money to buy my daughter Birthday and Christmas presents. Her Birthday is on the 20th of December so this poses problems every year as I'm broke at Christmas anyway without having to prep for a Birthday too. SO, i've got half her Birthday presents and half her Christmas presents already thanks to Nectar and Amazon :D I am determind to be ready this year and not have her birthday be a pannic :)

Like this last month or so, and yesterday, I just feel more negative about the feelings of working hard for something with the little time I have, with the feeling it's for nothing and that nobody really cares.

The family cat's dead. The rest of the family is quite upset. Some of them are even crying. I'm not. Never liked him. He was very quiet the last few days and it's the most endearing he's ever been. Thinking back on how I felt about him when he was alive I can't claim to feel that much different about my sister really. Wonder whether I'll care if she dies.

Need to get out of my own head. Need to be the thing that doesn't care somewhere away from them so I can turn around and lie to them when it matters. So I can go on knowing them.

If you're going to lie, and there are a great many reasons for doing so, you've got to keep some sort of grip on the real you. You've got to have something to come back to when you're done with the lie. Otherwise you either end up staring blankly off into space or lose control of the lies and just keep going. When you consciously fit your emotions to a situation, twist them around by constructing internal stories, then it can become a resonance.

You've got keep a core set of definitions seperate from that, even if it's just the knowledge you're a bit of a bastard.

Edit: Cat smells like rather iffy cheese, if you were wondering.

Parents continue their persistent nagging for me to get a job.

Your sister's got a job and she's younger than you! Don't you have any pride? We believe in you.

Paraphrased.

My sister needs the money, I don't. Besides a few weeks ago they were bad-mouthing her lack of effort in finding a job to me. After destroying one perception of her they can't hold her up as an example of virtue in their defence. It's unconvincing if they only use those concepts when they're convenient to them.

Pride? Perhaps, but it looks nothing like theirs. I've already sold enough of that away in the name of pragmatism and received their praise for doing so.

And belief? As if it matters whether they believe in me. There's nothing relevant to our pride for either of us to believe in the other, nor at this stage is there any need to generate the objects for those beliefs.

It's tempting to move the timetable ahead, sell myself to the military right now and in doing so end this and related issues entirely. There's various reasons it would be better to wait a bit before doing that - get fitter, get more qualifications, etc - and I don't mind sticking around in this part of the country to practice some of the activities I enjoy here. But if I don't get an extra year or so to finish those things up; while it would devastate the parents; it's not very significant to me anymore. They've had warnings that such a thing might occur and discarded them.

I've already said this stuff to them, though in less blunt terms, they know I've stopped listening. Yet the nagging remains somewhat tiresome, like an insect buzzing around or a sort of verbal beating.

There's nothing complicated in enduring a beating. Unfocus your eyes, sing songs in your head; wait for them to stop hitting you. Find that place inside yourself where it doesn't matter. Once the initial shock is over pain just makes you tired.

The difficult bit is not enduring: it's remaining sharp, watching for the moment when you can turn the tables. Resisting the temptation just to go elsewhere.

If you want kids to grow up with your professed values, try living by them. If you want people not to go elsewhere, lay a decent hearth rather than demanding they exist in the realm of your ideologies. People don't remain soft hearted forever; reflexive obedience dies when they notice you're just another human. ;)

200g butter
200g self raising flour
200g caster sugar
3 eggs
100g butter
icing sugar

Mix up all the 200g's of ingredients and the 3 eggs together. Grease cake trays and fill each part with mixture as per picture...

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n...p/DSC00150.jpg

Cook in pre heated oven at gas mark 6 for 15 minutes. Allow to cool.

Take out of trays and using a teaspoon cut out a little circle of cake from the top at the center.

Mix up into the 100g of butter enough icing sugar so the mix does not taste of butter anymore but icing sugar. Spoon a little of this mix into the hole you made at the top of the cake then put the top of the cake back on top as per the photo :)

My youngest girl graduated high school. We packed her things and she said her tearful goodbyes to her dorm mates. We had her boarded at school after her sister had the car accident.

She graduated with honors and a Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) license. She was on the medical career path at her school and will be attending university to get her degree in nursing.

I have 6 children from 3 wives and a girlfriend. 4 already graduated from college with degrees, my little girl will be a college freshman next semester and my little Cherokee son will be on the path to a fine education when he starts kindergarten next year.

I'll have to live long enough to get him his start. As luck would have it...I intend to live forever. So far, my plan is working.

Although I am somewhat infamous for savage behavior, I am a good Father and my children know that Daddy is always on their side.

I only had 2 rules for my kids:
Never lie.
You are not allowed to join the military or I will stop you by whatever means necessary.

That is why I am getting 2 cakes for Father's Day!

My cake selections were, German Chocolate and Strawberry.

It's good to be the king!

After Father's Day, they are all going to Atlanta to be with my injured daughter. I'll have a week to myself before joining them in the Monkey Kingdom, aka Atlanta.

P.S. I'm only pretending to know what the hell Blogs are for.

So, in closing...

Blog you, & you, & you in the back with the stupid hat!

Do your leaders walk their talk?

...

When you are faced with an adverse situation at work, you come to realize whether your leaders are true leaders, or are they just full of hot air.

When all goes well, leaders preach grand, noble values and belief systems, alluding to how good leaders they appear to be.

When things go wrong, watch carefully if your leaders walk the talk.

So much for all the fancy corporate values, mission statements and ethical standards.

At the end of the day, self-interest more often than not comes before any other value. I call this the value of “ME”.

The price of not succumbing to mediocrity, of upholding the values of honesty and integrity? Having to go through ridicule and insinuations of incompetence.

One wonders how long an organization can survive when honest and upright employees are not rewarded but instead punished for their honesty and integrity. This would only encourage employees to sink into mediocrity and adopt the wrong values for fear of harming their own career stability.

The amount of updates I’ve done for my sites in the past week were probably the most I’ve done in the past year! I’ve built 3 new sites within the space of 5 days and currently populating them with unique articles. I’ve also updated two of my much neglected sites in terms of Wordpress version upgrade, template upgrade, and plugin upgrades. I’m extremely happy with how they are presented now :)

Just last night I’ve taken the plunge and invested quite some money on an SEO service, building a network of sites called linkwheel targeting at 3 heavily targeted keywords. The build up will take a whole month and we should be able to see some result by August (I hope so). If I can push up my site to the 1st page of Google for either keywords it will be well worth it. As for my MFA project I’ve dumped slightly a sum of money, bulk of which were mainly for re-activating my Wordtracker account and obtaining unique contents.

Irish trained National winner offer looks generous

Those firms currently going 3/1 about an Irish-trained winner of this year's John Smiths* Grand National *, could have seriously underestimated the...

Those firms currently going 3/1 about an Irish-trained winner of this year's John Smiths Grand National , could have seriously underestimated the strength of the challenge from the Emerald Isle, writes Elliot Slater.

Looking first at race trends, five of the last ten winners of the Aintree marathon have been trained in Ireland, the most recent being the 2007 hero Silver Birch, (a borderline starter this time around due to his low weight allocation), but on the basis of the last ten years, even money would seem to be the right price.

Looking at the ante-post list for this year's renewal, whilst Paul Nicholls' Tricky Trickster is favourite with all firms, five of the next nine leading fancies are trained in Ireland – Vic Venturi (joint favourite in some lists), Black Apalachi, Backstage, Snowy Morning and Arbor Supreme. On paper they look a serious threat to any of the other horses in the 112 strong field at present, and that's before considering others such as former Cheltenham Gold Cup winner War Of Attrition, high class but inconsistent Notre Pere, 2008 runner-up King John's Castle, Scottish National runner-up Gone To Lunch, as well as the capable performers, Dooneys Gate, Siegemaster, Beroni and Casey Jones.

Of course it is unlikely that all the above mentioned will be facing the starter on April 10, (there's a lot of water to flow under the bridge before then), but most are intended starters and constitute a very serious Irish challenge for this year's big race.

The offer of 3/1 an Irish-trained winner of the race and the prospect of having so many leading candidates running for you at those odds, looks a very tempting proposition. I would not be in the least bit surprised if the raceday odds for such an occurrence are considerably shorter, so make a note of this when placing your Grand National Free Bets.

Even though the modern racing era has seen the arrival of the Breeders' Cup and the Dubai World Cup races, for many horse racing purists The Derby remains the singularly most desirable race to win of the whole international racing calendar, writes Elliot Slater.

Since the inaugural running in 1780, won by Diomed, The Derby has been held at Epsom Downs, initially over the distance of a mile, but from 1784 over the mile-and-a-half that has become the yardstick test of a true middle-distance champion racehorse.

When looked at dispassionately, Epsom seems a very strange place to plan a racecourse. Unlike many tracks around the world - particularly the US where all courses are flat, oval, left-handed and rarely more than nine furlongs around - Epsom is a tremendously undulating course. Runners climb through the first half mile before making a rapid descent to Tattenham corner where they have to negotiate a sharp left-hand bend and then race the three furlongs to the finish on a straight that has a steep camber from the stands side to the far rail.

The extraordinary camber in the home straight has caught many horses out over the years as they became unbalanced when trying to mount a challenge and drift across the track, often into other runners.

The gradients, the camber and the sharp bend, all test the thoroughbred racehorse to the limit meaning winners can rightly claim to have stamina, speed, agility, balance and determination - all the qualities breeders, and horse racing betting experts, look for in a potential star stallion.

Of the many trial races Lingfield's Derby Trial and Chester's Dee Stakes are often seen as a good indication of a horse that might handle Epsom as both tracks are out of the ordinary and test the agility and balance of a three-year-old colt. In the last 25 years, horses such as High Rise, Kris Kin, Kahyasi and Oath, have all won there but York's Dante Stakes, a race that places stamina at a premium, is the most successful guide these days. It has produced seven of the last 23 winners, the most recent being Authorized in 2007, so this is something to think about when looking at The Derby Betting.

So, I'm trying to save for a new computer, as I've been using the lappy for about a year since my desktop computer blew up back then. I really miss having a desktop computer, so I decided to save some of my money..

A good premise on the face of it, but for one small problem; It's really hard. For example, you see something you like in the shops, you want it. Now usually I'd go get it, but now I have to think; "No, you're saving.."

Well, I know all will be good in the end, and I've saved about £105($160), and I'll go get a computer when I've got about £130($200) as I just need something to build upon, I have alot of the parts here... BUT I REALLY WANTED THAT SAUSAGE ROLL.

So, today was pretty meh, No-one to talk to this morning, so I slept a little longer than usual, when I did get up it was still relatively early.

I talked to Arch for a bit, he made me reorganise my music folder! D: Its all nice and clean now though, I suppose, though I didn't really mind either way >.>

List of music I need to listen to:

Pink Floyd

More Metallica

Whatever the hell last.fm tells me to

Suggestions?

More Delian

More Kamelot

Anyway, I emerged from my room after doing my initial lurking on the web for a couple of hours at around midday. SOUP OMG!

I got a new PC game, LOTR:BFMEII, took some screenies, and it has a mo'fuggin dragon in it cos its speshul edition, which was quite cool.

That's about it?

Idk, I suck at blogs, and congrats if you got through this one :D

Nicky Henderson will send a tremendously powerfully team to this year's Cheltenham Festival, a hand further strengthened by the impressive win of British debutant Soldatino in the Racingpost.com Adonis Juvenile Hurdle at Kempton, writes Elliot Slater.

The French bred grey had only been with the Seven Barrows handler for five weeks and some reports suggested that he had more than his fair share of temperament. A record of two defeats in French bumpers before a win at Pau in a three-runner novice hurdle in January hardly looked on the face of it to be anything out of the ordinary.

In recent years Henderson has used Kempton's Grade 2 juvenile hurdle as a step up the racing ladder for some of his very best horses – he won with Punjabi (2007) and Binocular (2008) – so probably the hint should have been taken. Soldatino's task was made significantly easier with the absence of the anticipated odds-on favourite Mille Chief due to injury, but there was no mistaking the authority with which the four-year-old despatched proven performers Toubab and the favourite Ultimate.

Even though the time of the race was anything but spectacular bookmakers seemed suitably impressed with Barry Geraghty's mount who was cut from 40/1 to 20's soon after crossing the winning line seven lengths clear of the field.

Henderson however refused to definitely commit Soldatino to a crack at the JCB Triumph Hurdle, pointing out that it is still possible he might run new French import Super Kenny and even short-priced Sandown flop According in the two-mile juvenile cavalry charge that opens the fourth and final day of the Cheltenham Festival.

Whether or not he does race next in the Triumph Hurdle, there seems little doubt that Soldatino appears to have plenty of ability and should pay his way in the future, something to consider when placing a Cheltenham Bet in the coming weeks.

Now that we're done with the importing of some sites and building a few new ones. We have time to tweak the forum structure a bit more.

Today for example I have merged 'tv talk (imported)' and 'fall season 2009' into the forum 'tonight on tv'. And renamed that one to 'television talks'.

Together with Mikey we're improving other sites. The anime forums have a few new ones, so keep an eye out for new content.

The graphics, music and sports forums have a few new ones too, and we will tweak their setup soon.

Hopefully over time it only gets better, which means: easier for you to navigate around and find what you're looking for.

And! If it's not there: Make a new thread! :)

Enjoy the improvements everybody. We have a lot more in store this year to make sure your experience on this site is as smooth as we can make it.
